about

"In March 2013, I took a long drive solo from Pennsylvania to South Carolina for business. I slept in my van in Wal-Mart and Church parking lots, listened to almost every CD I own, and jumped into the Atlantic Ocean at six in the morning.

It was more than just a work trip, however. For me, it was part of an inward, emotionally charged journey. I had hours to question who I am and the lonely van and empty miles to hear my spoken prayers. It wasn't until I sat on that beach staring out at the Atlantic that something clicked.

It's in the quiet. It's in the steady sound of waves and the soft crackling of campfires. That is where I found hope."

Track Name: Waves & Campfires
Verse 1
My heart is much like a telephone,
Trying to get a message home,
but this switchboard can’t connect

So then I’ll leave a message at the beep,
informing you I’ve been asleep,
and I forgot you in my dreams

And I’m real sorry ‘bout that

Verse 2
I guess I’ll take a trip on down the coast,
looking for the holy Ghost,
while I sleep out in my van

I’ll get up early and drive to the beach,
take a picture of the rising East,
and I think of You and me

But I’m so tired of feeling lonely

Bridge
So let my heart be heard in this,
steal away all of my bitterness,
and replace it with a kiss,
replace it with a holy kiss

Verse 3
Atlantic waves and Pine campfires,
radiate my heart’s desire,
to find peace in this life

So I will leave this place with just one hope,
praying that this call gets home,
and this switchboard can connect...
